According to Scooby-Doo: Behind the Scenes, Daphne wanted to be both a supermodel and a detective even as a child (the latter of which disappointed her parents). Her aspirations had an effect on her personal life as she was late for dates whenever she went on mysteries with the gang; she and Fred deny the rumors that they are dating. Her father gave her and her friends the seed money to start off and, prior to buying the Mystery Machine, Daphne's parents gave her gas money to drive them to where there were mysteries to be solved.
Daphne and Fred had a mutual crush on each other, but Fred was more interested in getting a crook named "Lumpy" to confess to a crime he didn't commit. They would often get Daphne involved in theirs, and they blamed her when they failed. They got frustrated with her because she would not help with their relationships and would, on occasion, speak out of turn and dismiss one of the main plotlines they were acting out. For example, she caused Frank to punch a hole in the wall when she accused Fred's girlfriend Nikki and Fred of dating.
Daphne liked Frank and called her his friend. She helps him out in more than one occasion when he was in trouble. Daphne and Scooby are very comfortable with their relationship, and Daphne was once embarrassed when he thought she was in trouble, but when Scooby found out that his friend had been kidnapped he told her to leave him and go help him, and she did.
In "A Date with Squidward," Daphne asks Squidward to go on a double date with her and Fred, which he does. They play corn-hole, and it is revealed that Daphne and Fred are secretly dating. The trio has a picnic in the Haunted Star that night and meets up with Roger, who has gone to look for a clue to "find" his lost aunt. They get separated from the others and meet up later on and discover that the clue was a trap set up by Fred. d2c66b5586
